What this means for you
- You pay the same price. Commissions are paid by the company, not added to your bill.
- Our rankings are independent. Commissions never buy placement. We score every machine in the same categories — out-of-box ease, espresso control, milk steaming, build, footprint, and modding ceiling — and we publish negative findings when we find them.
- Our reviews are research-based. We score from published specs, manuals, and documented owner-community experience. We say plainly on each page when a review isn't based on in-lab testing.
Which companies pay us
As of September 2026, we have affiliate relationships with Breville (direct affiliate program) and Seattle Coffee Gear (retailer affiliate program). This list is updated whenever a relationship starts or ends. Affiliate links on this site carry rel="sponsored nofollow" so search engines can identify them.
What we don't do
- We don't accept payment for positive reviews or higher rankings.
- We don't let advertisers preview or edit our reviews.
- We don't publish prices we can't keep current — price claims go stale, so we link you to the retailer's live price instead.
- We don't invent test results. If we haven't measured it, we don't claim we did.
Why we disclose this
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission requires clear disclosure of material connections between reviewers and the companies they review. Beyond the legal requirement, we disclose because trust is the whole point of this site — you should know exactly how we make money.
